We’re in for a Wild Ride: Let’s Look at What People Will Say 100 Years From Now

One hundred years from now, in the year 2120, seven college students open a history book and study a chapter about early 21st century America. They gasped and one student said: “What were they thinking? How could they do such crazy things!  They rioted and burned down their cities and did battle among the ruins!  The political right and left couldn’t seem to talk to each other. They regarded rhetoric as futility and they resorted to brutality. Western civilization was in chaos in the years just before the second coming of Christ!

 

“It must have been a challenging time to be alive in pre-millennial America or in any part of the world for that matter. Nations were armed with nuclear missiles pointed at each other. Hostile nations surrounded Israel. Abortion was legal in most of the nations of the world 100 years ago. Poverty and starvation were commonplace in under-developed nations.

 

One of the students flips a page and points to a picture of the American president and reads: “The US was led by a man from New York with a floozy blond hairstyle and an abrasive personality. He was socially inept and went through multiple divorces yet he was effective in a lot of ways and he was a trumpet in the mouth of God. The news media hated him yet they reluctantly admitted he was skilled in getting things done. Some of the more cynical ones called him an effective creep.”

 

Another student spoke up and said: “That president sure had a lot of opposition. The political left was offering socialism, abortion and homosexuality during those years and it seemed like the whole world was on the verge of accepting their agenda.” Another student interrupts and asks “Why would anyone want totalitarian government, mass murder of the unborn and Sodom and Gomorrah morality?” 

 

The first student explained: “It’s because of the secular culture of the early twenty first century. They denied God’s morals because they denied the existence of God and they claimed that all living things self-assembled by a process called ‘evolution.’ They claimed that people had no souls, no life after death and no future beyond the 70 or so years of life on this earth!

 

“One of the early prophets of secularism, Karl Marx said that the individual human is merely ‘atoms in motion.’ Another prophet of secularism, John Paul Sartre said ‘Man is a useless passion.’ The towering figure in atheistic evolution, Charles Darwin taught in his book ‘The Descent of Man’ that humans were essentially descendants of apes. People began to believe they had no spiritual life and no accountability to God in the afterlife.”

 

The biology student spoke up and said: “How could they be so stupid as to believe that life self-assembled by the accumulation of favorable replication errors in the DNA? Didn’t they plainly see, even with their primitive 21st century technology, that DNA breaks down over time? Didn’t they look at the plain biological fact that, in 2020, there were over 6,000 diseases in the human population caused by bad genetic mutations!? There were only about a dozen favorable mutations being studied by biologists. DNA breaks down over time and that’s called Genetic Entropy!

 

“Genetic mutations don’t add new base pairs or give new beneficial information to DNA. Mutations simply scramble, duplicate or delete pre-existing base pairs in the DNA. Mutations are destructive errors that break down DNA generation after generation. Evolution has no plausible mechanism to develop higher forms of life. Even the fossil record doesn’t support belief in evolution. How could they be so foolish as to base their whole philosophical and political system on evolution as the origins myth!”

 

The political science student asked: “Whatever happened to that acerbic American president who flipped the table over on so many things and was attacked as he ran for reelection in the year 2020?” 

 

Another student said: “You’re the political science guy and you’re asking us!? Let me tell you. The opposition party, called The Democratic Party, had gone to an extreme left position by 2020. America entered into such a time of strife before and after that election that some historians call it the Second American Civil War.

 

“From their writings, party platform and public statements we can discern that the Democrats promoted an agenda that included: 

 

“1) Abortion through all nine months of pregnancy and even ‘partial birth abortion’  which is killing a baby while its being born. A huge disproportion of aborted babies were African American. Black lives didn’t really matter all that much to the socialist subversives.

 

2) The Gay Agenda including gay marriage, transsexual surgery for youths without parental consent and men claiming to be women given access to girl’s locker rooms.

 

3) Open borders, amnesty for 15 million illegals already in the US, immediate access to welfare for all new immigrants whether legal or illegal.

 

4) Religious speech re-classified as hate speech if it ever criticizes the Gay Agenda and other progressive goals. Jail time for anti-progressive sermons. (This was already in place in Canada by 2020!)

 

5) Green New Deal environmental agenda to severely limit burning of oil. That would have severely cut back air travel and other economic activity that uses oil for energy.

 

6) Confiscatory taxation to fund the Green New Deal and the expanded welfare state to support the tens of millions of new immigrants from under-developed countries. The new taxes would destroy not just the rich but also the middle class and make everyone poor except, of course, the government elite who would run the new permissive welfare state.

 

7) Businesses regulated to death by radical environmental laws.

 

8) Landlords regulated to death by radical tenant’s rights laws.

 

9) Nationalized single-payer, Medicare for all, healthcare that pays for abortions with tax dollars and forces vaccinations on all regardless of religious or medical objections.

 

10) A one party totalitarian welfare state guaranteeing poverty, abortion and gay agenda for all with cradle to grave “security” and income at “sustainable” (i.e. poverty) level.”

 

The philosophy major spoke up and said: “Where was the church in all this? I’ve read that there was a great revival in the early 21st century in which over a billion souls worldwide got saved. Didn’t these people sway the election?”

 

The history major said: “That revival came after the 2020 election. At the time of the election, the theologically conservative Christian population was a small minority. They prayed and interceded. They did evangelism, social activism and political outreach. They prevailed in re-electing that enigmatic American President. They brought about social reforms in the old, pre-millennial United States. They even confirmed justices to the Supreme Court who overturned Roe Vs. Wade, the infamous decision that legalized abortion in America. Similar moral reforms happened in other countries all over the world. There was such joy that they cried rivers of tears. The left was stunned into silence.”

 

She continued: “Those Christians, who were our great, great, great grandparents, showed that the Bible, far from being a dusty old book, gave the basis for a just and fair society. The 21st century Americans returned to the Bible’s view of sacredness of human life, dignity of man, monogamous family life and personal freedom.

 

“The founding fathers of America realized that the Bible gave the basis for democracy because the Bible teaches that each human individual is sacred because he/she is created in the image of God and will live forever beyond death. The Bible teaches about personal liberty and self-governance. We read of self-governance in Romans 14:5 which says: ‘Let every man be persuaded in his own mind.’ We don’t need a dictator to tell us what to believe or think. 

 

“In Revelation 1:6, the Bible teaches that Christ ‘hath made us kings and priests unto God.’ If every Christian is a king and priest, then the only practical way to create what the Pilgrims called ‘a civil body politick’ is to hold an election. Since each person is equal and royal, no man can exalt himself as king dictator. The leader must govern only with the consent of the other Christian kings and priests.

 

“The Bible gave us democracy, freedom and equality. The secular atheists tried to impose totalitarianism, servitude, abortion and sexual perversion. The left tried to turn western civilization into Sodom and Gomorrah!

 

“A twentieth century Christian philosopher named Clive Staples Lewis (or C. S. Lewis) taught that a man can be persuaded to go from atheist to belief in God by intellectual persuasion alone but a man can come to faith in Christ for salvation only by the convicting power of the Holy Spirit.

“What Lewis meant was that a man can study the fact that Christ came in fulfillment of over 300 Messianic prophecies that were written in the Old Testament. And he can consider the miracles that Christ performed and he can see miracles occur during his own lifetime in answer to Christian prayer. He can see all this and be intellectually persuaded that there is a God in heaven and Christ is the Savior whom God sent to die for the sins of the people. ‘The LORD hath laid on him [Christ] the iniquity of us all’ Isaiah 53:6.

 

“However, only God, by the grace of Christ and by the power of the Holy Spirit can shine the light of faith in the heart to give the grace of repentance and forgiveness of sins. Christianity is a faith apprehended by the heart. It’s a one-on-one love relationship with God!

 

“This was the answer to the crisis of the early twenty-first century. Our ancestors proclaimed the Gospel to the world. There was a great revival in the early 21st century and many miracles occurred. The greatest of the miracles was the move of God on the hearts of people to know the love of God and to receive forgiveness of sins through Jesus Christ! Thank God so many people turned to Christ 100 years ago and people still receive salvation through Christ today as He now rules the world from His throne in Jerusalem!”

Steps to salvation:

Jesus said “Ye must be born again” (John 3:7).

• 1) Believe that God created you and loves you and sent the Messiah (Messiah is Hebrew for Christ) to redeem you.
• 2) Believe that Jesus Christ came in fulfillment of over 300 Bible prophecies to die for you, to take upon Himself the penalty of your sins (Isaiah 53:5-6, John 6:29, Romans 4:5, First Peter 3:18).
• 3) Turn from sin and call on the name of Jesus to receive forgiveness of sins (Romans 10:13).
• 4) Receive Jesus as Savior and experience the new birth (John 1:12, Acts 2:38).
• 5) Follow Jesus Christ as Lord (John 14:21).

Prayer to receive salvation:

“Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13).

To receive the salvation that Jesus purchased for us at the terrible cost of His suffering and death on our behalf I invite you to pray this simple prayer:

“Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for sending Jesus, the promised Messiah, to die for my sins. I admit that I am a sinner. I repent of my sins and I ask for your forgiveness on the basis of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I ask you to fill me with your Holy Spirit to empower me to serve you under the Lordship of Jesus Christ, Amen.”

If you prayed this prayer in the humble sincerity of your heart then you have received everlasting life, which includes power to live right in this life and entrance into heaven in the afterlife!
